The endogenous mineral deposits of crystals include pegmatite type, hydrothermal type, and skarn type; Exogenous deposits are commonly found in placer deposits. Crystal deposits in China are also widely distributed, with crystal production occurring in more than 25 provinces and regions. The genetic types of crystal deposits in China are mainly divided into four types: ① granite pegmatite type crystal deposits, such as the Chastai crystal deposit in Urad Middle Banner, Inner Mongolia; ② Quartz vein type crystal deposits, such as the crystal deposit in Donghai County, Jiangsu Province, the most famous "hometown of crystals" in China; ③ Skarn type crystal deposits, such as the Chaoyangwan crystal deposit in Balin Right Banner, Inner Mongolia; ④ Crystal sand deposits have high crystal hardness and are not easily weathered, often forming residual, slope and alluvial crystal sand deposits.
Within the 1500 square kilometers of Donghai County, there is abundant crystal storage, with a storage capacity of about 300000 tons, accounting for more than 70% of the country's total. The silicon content is as high as 99.99%, ranking first in both storage capacity and quality in the country. Under the ecological red line constraints of mineral resource conservation and development, in recent years, more and more people from the East China Sea have gone abroad to purchase crystal raw stones from all over the world, and transported them back to the East China Sea for centralized processing and creative research and development. A modern crystal industry chain has been formed in the local area, covering raw stone procurement, processing research and development, market sales, cultural exhibitions, and other functions.
At present, there are more than 7000 companies engaged in crystal sales in Donghai, attracting more than 70000 anchors to work on crystal sales live streaming. The East China Sea has achieved an annual production of 30 million crystal jewelry and 5 million crystal handicrafts, with over 300000 people engaged in crystal processing, marketing, and supporting services, making it the world's largest crystal distribution center.
